Oh Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree came down from the attic today to find a special corner in our home to once again remind us about the reason for the season. To light up our life and bring the spirit of Christ and his birth in to our home. It will help us to remember what Christmas is truly about. To reflect on the tiny baby that lay in the manager because there was no room in the inn.

Then I can get the presents sent and the cookies baked and the cards addressed. I want to this year have us all remember what we are celebrating on that special day in December and why.
My Christmas tree is adorned with Victorian decorations from years past and each year I have to find one new one to add to the tree. I want my home to look and smell like the homes of yesterday .

I put my Victorian buggy and china doll next to the tree to add a little reminder of how it may have looked many years ago in an old Victorian home. I want the smell of pine mixed with the smells of cookies baking in the oven to flow through the house. I will have the sounds of Christmas music coming from the speakers and the lights in the windows that say welcome to my home this holiday season.

It will be a busy time getting the last minute gifts made that I have been working on all year but it will for me a time to reflect on all the Christmas pass and all the work and effort we put in to the season and to remember why we celebrate that special day in December.......the day we call Christmas.

Your tree must look so beautiful with all the Victorian decorations on it, can't wait to see pictures:-) I decorated mine today too so now all I have left is to do my shopping. We do indeed have to take time out in our busy schedules to remember what Christmas is all about!! Take care dear Sharon and enjoy this wonderful time of year! xox

Ahh. your writing and words spread warmth like a glowing fire dear Sharon. l love the smells of Christmas just as much as the decorations. We always go up to Glenbranter Forestry Co. to get a real Christmas tree- l don't mind hoovering up the needles because the smell is just so intoxicating!
We live in an old Victorian house and l love it- all the old mouldings and features- you would feel at home :)
l have been reading Sam the story of Jesus' birth- the true meaning of Christmas. l feel it is important to remember the 'reason for the season' as they say.
Bests and hugs xx

I'm glad you decided to bring out your tree and decorate for Christmas anyway knowing that you may have to take it all down and move.
Your decorations sound beautiful and I hope that you post some pictures of your tree with that victorian buggy and china doll next to it. My presents as a child were also not wrapped and if I would have had only one child I would have not wrapped their gifts either.
Christmas is my favorite holiday and I like to put my manger near the tree to remind me why we celebrate Christmas. It's not about presents or Santa Claus, but about the birth of Christ.
