Home Is Where My Story Begins
Welcome Home
I am back in Florida and decorating for the fall months, I have so many books on decorating but one of my favorites is (Welcome Home) by Emilie Barnes
It is a book about crating your own place with beauty and love, it is about making others feel welcome.
I have found that the little welcome lights that most people put out only around the holidays is a wonderful way to say welcome and come on in the year around. I also have a small light in the kitchen that says welcome to me when I have been away and to others. The wreath on the front door is a wonderful way to also say come on in. A seasonal wreath is a wonderful way to do this.
Go not abroad for happiness. For it is a flower that blooms at the door. (Minot J. Savage)
A beautiful flowerbed next to the door or a pine tree covered with snow is a seasonal welcome that is always out side the door. If you have someone coming to visit you can hang a chalkboard in your garage and draw a welcome sign with the visitor name on it. These are just a few ways to say welcome home or welcome friends. The entrance way to your home sets the mood and sends the message about the whole house. Of course the smell of candles or scented sprays always help. I do not have a foyer in my home so as some one enters they see my living room. I have soft light and soft music playing when I am expecting company.
There are so many ways to make a house in to a home and that is what September Morn...will be about. Tomorrow I will post a few pictures of my home and my new autumn look at the lamp post . I will also have helpful hints and this one I used today...

I love the Emilie Barnes book you spoke of...although you could probably write a book yourself...as a matter of fact...from the pictures of your decor that I've seen in the past...you could be Emilie Barnes...lol!!
Happy Fall!!
