Winter Wonderland..........
OK.... I know........I wanted to move to Ohio and we have a lot of snow and I will be the last one to complain.......I Know. People do not believe me, but I do find it some what refreshing. As long as I can sit inside and see the beauty of the new fallen snow on a tree branch or a robin who forgot to go south, flying around and looking for feed. We had our closing today and went to our new condo. and all ready bought paint for the celling...........so we are ready to transfer the condo to country cottage condo. I am trying to come up with a name for my cottage.....and need help if any of you out there can think of a name for my new home. I like Rose Cottage but that belongs to Laurie of the blog Rose Cottage so I will find another cute name and have a sign painter paint it.............so help please.
This evening we had a wonderful bowl of green peeper soup and it was so good. I will add the easy recipe below.

If you try the soup you will have it over and over on a cold winter night. We put
shredded cheese on top of the soup......... so good.
OK dinner is over and now it is time to check out a few o f my favorite wallpapers ..now remember I have white washed bedroom furniture that looks like off white and I love this wallpaper for one wall and the other walls painted red..........who said I was not daring..........
I love this paper and I think the light colors are the same color of the furniture and above also is a border that would go with the wallpaper. I think I would end up with a country cottage look.
For the guest room/office I found a red sleeper sofa that I will order next week. I want the nautical look in this room ....I do not want to make a nautical statement with light houses or sailboats......so I thought a stripe blue and white with the red sofa and the other walls in blue to match the blue in the stripe would give me the look.
I have been in many of your homes
through blogging and if any one out there has any ideas on decorating ...please let me know.........Of course when all finished you will all see the finished rooms...Thanks so much for coming along on my decorating endevers.....
Dished are finished and now I will sit back and look at a few more decorating books and dream of my country cottage with a few bits of vontage here and there. Country cottage and vintage spells..............................Sharon Kay

My husband loves stuffed peppers so I bet he'd love that soup. May have to give it a try!!
Love all the colors you've chosen so far. I'm drawing a blank on the name for a cottage.
:)
I must try that soup! We love stuffed peppers here! And I am a big soup lover...
That wallpaper is just glorious! Really! I love the colors.
I know you are having such fun aren't you?! I can almost see your smile!
I was wonderful if you were staying warm with this cold snap! The snow has been pretty though. It is a big change for you and you can enjoy it!
I will think about a name...I LOVE Rose Cottage but understand why you want another choice.
Still thinking....
Love and hugs,
Sue
Hello Sharon! I too am from lovely Ohio just a bit south of you in Massillon ..yes it's wonderful sitting here looking out at our snow. I enjoy the snow but not the cold. Seems like the older I get the less I like the cold...
I think your blog is just delightful! It is so well put togather. I was thrilled to find your soup recipe. I had this soup a few weeks ago & loved it! Now I will be able to make it myslef.
Thank you for sharing your soup recipe and your blog!

I recently moved from Kansas to the Seattle and I'm not sure I miss the snow. I did, however, miss the hot weather last summer. Isn't decorating fun? I bet you'll have that condo transformed in to time.
Thank you for posting at my blog and letting me "find" yours. How lovely! I, too, live in the Midwest and although we have not had as much snow as usual, it is cold.
Bitter cold!
I walked down the little lane in front of our house and across to the rural mailboxes (where our newspaper is left) this morning. Just a short walk but I thought I was going to be frozen stiff before walking back.
I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog. I also have a sister named JoAnne (although she spelled hers Joan for some reason), she and my mom have gone on.
I agree with you, about the snow... And _the_ sitting inside and seeing the beauty of it. :-)
_Love_ your ideas for the red bedroom. Oh my yes! Can't wait to see it, with the white washed bedroom furniture. Oh sigh. I'd so love white washed but... husband is a total natural wood lover. Well, I can't blame him, as he does so many beautiful things in wood, with his woodworking. But {as I've said _so_ many times already, that I'm becoming a "broken record"} I'm so going to enjoy seeing your pictures.

Hello dear Sharon!! That soup sure does look good and I've copied the recipe to try it. My mom loves soups too so I'll share the recipe with her:-) Oh I so love all the wallpapers you've chosen so far and your colour schemes will be perfect for the cottage look! As for a name for your cottage...hmmm...let's see...how about "Rainbow's End" or "Rose Haven Cottage"...when I think of more I'll let you know! Hugs xox
Hi SHARON,
Everything is so exciting for you now. How fun. I like the name "WINSTON COTTAGE".
NANCY JO
Hi, how about 'Chapter Cottage', after all, it's a new chapter in your life for you! If you were closer we could make the sign for you, as we have our own sign business! Good luck in your new home! Clare x
You could call it "Cool Breeze Cottage" or "Country Breeze Cottage"...I'll keep thinkin'...lol!!
:-D
Rose Blossom Cottage would work too...
:-D
I love the idea of a red bedroom with the furniture you have chosen..very *passionate* not to mention cosy. As for the name, well 'THE' Winston's home was named Chartwell..and is still known for it's beautiful rose gardens.Just a thought..
We are expecting record cold temperatures this next week and I think your soup recipe will be the perfect comfort food on a cold winter's night! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the red wallpaper. I bet you are so excited you can hardly stand it! Decorating is so mcuh fun, isn't it?!! It's hard picking out a name for your cottage, isn't it? For my "cottage" I finally decided on Willow View because of the gorgeous weeping willow trees all around us. For your cottage, how about Primrose Cottage? That way you'd still get rose in there. Or how about Sweetbriar Cottage? I'll keep thinking. With all of us helping something will eventually "jump" out at you and you will say, "that's the one!"
Sharon,
Ok I like the bedroom wallpaper, it will look great behind the bed...take it to Ace and ask them to match the paint. With the cream lace sheers it will really look nice in the bed room...what about the bathroom is it going all red with the wallpaper border??? Tell Me!! I want to know..LOLOL
Linda
Whats your mothers name...thats what brought you back to Ohio....
Hi Sharon..I love the solid red with the white work on it. All of your choices sound lovely. Its so exciting to see a room evolve into a special place. I love what decorating can do. I'm with you on the snow...its so very beautiful! My friend gave me the same recipe...she loves it too!
Well how do you do miss
~lavender &lace Cottage~
I think that may be appropriate...how exciting to decorate a new condo/cottage!
As I look at your striped fabric i see *lavender* oh the scent so calming and add the lace throughout...oh you said nautical...i just got carried away! I am a lavender girl...LoVe it..grow it ..have it in every room.mmmm
So pleased that YoU entered my ~valentine give-a-way!~ :)NG
I heard about the storm at the Villages last night and I'm glad that you are safe in Ohio.

I adore that wall paper. Just lovely. How about a type of rose for the name? Floribunda or Grandiflora?
Ooh..that soup sounds delicious! I love the idea of naming your new cottage...I will have to start thinking and let you know if I come up with anything!
Kelli
Oh, I don't know how I stumbled on to your blog..but so glad I did! Your soup looks wonderful, I must try it, it is -4 here today, I love the papers you have chosen for your condo cottage, and I look forward to seeing you finish it. Just a thought, what about "Sharon's Rose Cottage?" I know, not too creative, but after all, it is yours! I am definitely adding you to my favorites!
